Campaign ERA
In December of 1981, a group of women in Champaign County, Illinois formed the Grassroots Group of Second Class Citizens to plan a series of direct actions in support of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the U.S. Constitution.

Using archival footage and present day interviews the documentary will look back at those actions which began with a chain-in at the doors of the Illinois Senate that extended to a four-day occupation of the State Capitol.

Other daily actions included twice disrupting the legislature and taking over the floor of the House of Representatives, chaining themselves to the Governor's office door, and, following the defeat of the ERA, writing the names of anti-ERA legislators in blood on the senate floor.

An explaination of the significance of the ERA and it defeat will also be explored.

Who Owns
a Woman?

The 28-minute documentary traces the continuing effects of Operation Rescue's mammoth protests on the Wichita community Following the 1991 "Summer of Mercy" abortion protest.

Using archival and recent footage, and interviews with "clinic defenders" and "patient escorts," the documentay raises awareness of the continuing and ever present siege on women's clinics that occurs daily throughout the country.

Wichita is a microcosm of Middle America, and the front line in the battle to maintain women's reproductive rights is at the clinic door.

"A well made film that sparked student interest and lively class discussion."
